This special summer event will begin with a picnic and casual games of croquet at the Thames Barrier followed by a private guided tour of the site, which features models, videos and displays to explain the history and environment of the River Thames and how the Thames Barrier was designed and built, and how it works. The day will cap off with a scenic boat trip along the River taking us back to city central.

Our planet is not growing to take into account population and economic growth. The resources that the world contains are not increasing to satisfy our continual desire for expansion. It appears that our economic system is in conflict with our environmental system.
